This vote is about an EU platform to recruit skilled workers from non-EU countries.
Background
Many European sectors are short of workers (health, construction, transport…). The “EU Talent Pool” is an online platform to match European employers with jobseekers from outside the EU.
- Creates an EU recruitment platform for shortage occupations.
- Member states take part voluntarily, and each keeps control over who enters its territory.
- Provides safeguards against exploitation and for ethical recruitment.
Adopted: 414 for, 182 against, 21 abstentions, 101 did not vote.
