Public interface connected to the Internal Market Information System for the declaration of posting of workers
This vote is about a single EU portal to declare workers temporarily posted to another EU country.
Background
Companies that temporarily send workers to another EU country (posted workers) must declare it, but each country has its own form and system. This regulation, proposed by the Commission in 2024 and steered through Parliament by Johan Danielsson (S&D) and Andreas Schwab (EPP), creates a common online interface connected to the Internal Market Information System (IMI). Parliament is approving the agreement reached with member states in June 2026.
- Creates a multilingual public portal, run by the Commission, where companies declare posted workers using a standard form.
- Leaves each member state free to use the portal; those that do may not require other declarations or additional information.
- Allows posted workers to obtain an electronic copy of their declaration, subject to data protection rules.
