Erasmus+ programme 2028-2034
This vote is about the future Erasmus+ exchange programme for students, apprentices and teachers (2028-2034).
Background
Erasmus+ funds exchanges and mobility in education, training, youth and sport. For 2028-2034, the Commission proposed a €40.8 billion programme that also takes in the European Solidarity Corps. Rapporteur Bogdan Zdrojewski (EPP) and the Culture and Education Committee are calling for €47.38 billion. Parliament adopted its first-reading position, which will serve as the basis for negotiations with Member States.
- Sets a budget split: 74.6% for education and training, 15% for youth and volunteering, 4.1% for sport.
- Adjusts mobility grants to differences in living and housing costs between host countries.
- Sets a target of at least 20% of participants with fewer opportunities and safeguards the visibility of volunteering once the European Solidarity Corps is merged in.
Adopted: 454 for, 34 against, 93 abstentions, 139 did not vote.
